3 Reasons to Outsource Your Podcast Production

ree

Podcasting CAN be a blast... but it's also a lot of work.

You’re recording, editing, mastering, and trying to stay sane while doing it all yourself.

If you want to take your show to the next level without running yourself into the ground, outsourcing your podcast production might be the answer.

Here’s why you should consider handing it over to a pro.

Reason 1: Time = Money (and Sanity)

So like I said, podcasting is fun, but it's time consuming.

Most people consider the fun part to be the recording.... but that's just a small part of it. If you aren't careful, you might find yourself spending hours doing things that aren't even the fun part of making a podcast, like editing, mastering, promoting, etc.

Outsourcing gives you back those hours, so you can focus on what matters most... creating content that your audience loves.

And if you're being honest?

You'd probably rather spend those hours doing literally anything else than wrestling with editing software, right?

Reason 2: You Can't Fake Professional Sound

Unless you're a seasoned audio engineer, it's tough to get your podcast to sound really professional without some serious know how.

Sure, you can watch a YouTube video or two, but there’s a reason why people go to audio pros for this stuff. They know how to fine tune EQ, fix background noise, and make sure your podcast sounds smooth and polished.

You might not be able to replicate that on your own, and sometimes, paying somebody else to do it is worth the frustration saved from not trying to do it yourself.

Reason 3: Get A Second Opinion

As a podcaster, you’re the star of the show. Your personality, your voice, and your ideas are what people tune in for.

But as much as you take ownership of your podcast, being too close to it can be harmful too.

Having a podcast editor who not only handles all the tech for you, but also provides insights into what you could be doing to improve your show.

It's almost like a built in coach along with a producer - or at least a second set of ears. Now, of course, you will need to find the right experienced fit for this added benefit, not just any old podcast editor. But they are out there!

So What?

Outsourcing might seem like an added expense, but in the long run, it can save you time, improve your sound, and help you focus on what you do best... creating killer content.

If you’re serious about growing your podcast, it’s worth considering.
